Connection with people matters

Well, let me just share....a small, trusted company that gives timely and friendly service is better than someone else's bigger, and trusted company that has a system, but lacks connectivity.... how you relate with others makes a significant impact .

It's all preparation: for the next level

Good morning! LOL my boys have been arguing and going back and forth at each other in ways that have made other people uncomfortable in surprising ways. Have you seen Oceans 13? The two brothers? LOL we laugh at the resemblance often...it really does get on your nerves...a bit.

😉 And it's not new. This has been ongoing since they began as brothers....a one year old punching and pounding on his brother and giving him a bleeding nose for Christmas was the preparation of what to expect and the boundaries to apply. And now the "teenage" hormone mood swings...sorry. This isn't new either. The crying babies and the gut wrenched toddlers were just as thrown off until their needs were met and we found out what foods were better suited for them...Almost all the situations and experiences we've had, have "grown" with them and served as tools for learning and growing...
That was the advice we were given by a mother of 5. "It's all preparation" ...The loss of sleep will prepare you for this and that...the crazy poopy diapers that get everywhere or on your friend's white carpet as it shoots everywhere...that will prepare you 😛 . We were advised to take all as training for the next stages in life...it doesn't get worse or better, it just is. And you will start seeing the connections...and then you can use their OWN situations as constant reminders for their own behaviours and choices and growth...and your training becomes theirs and their experiences were your trainings...it's a journey together.
School and going back to school doesn't change how my boys relate to each other as brothers. There has been no mention of school and going "back"...because it's just another way to experience. We put it on the calendar like everything else and just go from there.
LOL however, I guess I should show the older one how to take a bus to get there 😛 ... Bah! He's taken the bus before 😉 ...he'll figure it out 😃

Quick and simple adjustments today makes for better sleep tomorrow

Good morning! Have you ever gone camping and you are enjoying your sleep when someone has to go to the "pottie" and turns ON the flashlight? In the midst of the dark all of a sudden this bright BLAST of light shines in your eyes and good luck nuzzling back into that comfy spot

😄 But it's okay right? Their needs were met and the light guided the way.
Well, this morning I felt like I rolled over into the glare of a flashlight LOL ...again. 😛 The glare from the numbers on the alarm clock glowing at me like I should be reading it like a horoscope...the only thing I could really see since it's relatively dark....might as well jump on the scale and check that number too while I am at it since I am up and have to pee now (good news, having to go pee is not what woke me up 😉 . 😆 It's different when it's a one time thing that you know won't be your daily experience, but if it becomes a daily thing then you should probably adjust it so it doesn't keep disturbing you at a pinnacle point in the day...make adjustments....So I did 😉
I do wake up early in the morning naturally and I do not rely on or use an alarm clock...it's not for me, unless I am heading somewhere at an unnatural time for me (like midnight) and then need some help to get up. But in recent years, I like my larger cluster of sleep in a particular way....angled (inclined), cool, dark, etc...so as I got up to cover the alarm clock and laid back down, I tried breathing deep to possibly drift back into a slumber....but my mind was on "go" mode already from the green light of the alarm clock LOL....I decided to use that time instead to imagine...to pray....to check body and language...
Now it's been an extended quiet time instead of frustrating myself with "trying" to do something I know wasn't going to happen in that moment. AND I made the adjustments for tomorrow's restful sleep already. Quick and simple...no need to overthink it...and help to make it all work out for my benefit (because it really is 😉 )
Alrighty, going to make more of this "extra" time count this morning 🙂

Coming off the "snack train". A 180 degree change of direction

Good morning! Today's reflection comes courtesy of SNACKS!

WHEN you get to the point when something is no longer an occasional food but a daily occurence, you've started on the slippery slope to a whole new level. LOL so yesterday when we were at the Art Walk, we got barraged by the beautiful smells of food....and with my boys carrying their own money, they decided they wanted to buy something. It was at that point I declared, 'these foods no longer qualify as treats if you have them every day'. And it stopped us in our tracks... the boys had a shocked look (only one boy really... LOL) on his face...and then I chimed in saying veggies will now qualify as treats. A unanimous nod went through and we all knew that 1. That was a lie...and 2. That it was time to flip the coin and start diving in and celebrating our healthy 'treats' again. We simply just changed direction in that moment and went home with a basket of 'treat' organic cherries.
As I continue to write my chapter on Repentance, this loving example of a 180 degree change of direction sits as a great example of ease and focus...how we all have the choice to change and make it as easy or as difficult as we want to.
Enjoy a wonder filled Sunday ❤ And maybe another visit to the Art Walk today 😉
