More light, more reflections. Edumacation and the love of learning

Good morning! Bright and sunny....coming in from a different angle....more light....and with it, more reflections....

Yesterday I was reflecting on different experiences in the education system. One where the student thrives and does well, in spite of having little to no friends, just does their work and what they enjoy and doesn't get caught up in too much drama.....and then there are those, with little to no friends, drama finds them, they are smart but feel no desire to initiate, uninspired, bored, and counting hours to go home and do something they would rather be doing....
I was both. But mainly the second one..... Drama of racism and exclusion....finished all my work and was bored, was feeling uninspired and encouraged to move up in grades (grateful for the support of my early year teachers)....was told I should stay with my "peers" and make "friends" (didn't see that I was being both bullied and ostracized...I now am not an advocate for age-based peer groups....like-mindedness is better IMO) ... focused on my school work and things that kept my interests...was often alone...
Why do I bring this up? Many reasons....One reason, a year ago someone asked me about it....they are a peer who noticed this happening to me and how did I deal with it. It made me awfully sad to consider....that it was obvious SO MANY years after it began....and the second reason, I was in Education and I have a BIG HEART for fostering learning (lifelong)....For those that the system works for...great!! Keep at it! ❤ I have a son thriving in the system and he will continue to do so....For those that the system doesn't necessarily support, focus on your love for learning first...and then continue to learn in love and with love, and about love....there is a place for you too. Whether at home, online, or in a special school or program that offers GOOD support....it's there! ❤
The day is bright....the future is bright too. 😎

Enjoying OUR part in this "bigger picture"...Earth Day 2018

Good morning! Earth day! And, as in the years before, it is the perfect day for gardening. I find it funny that THIS is the day I set as a benchmark for the season....I am always able to clean up my garden beds with the support of mother nature on this very day. I sit with patience as the first month of Spring (Sprinter) allows the ground to thaw to a point where it will receive the melted gift from winter....moisture to grow....

How many times have you cursed the process or WISHED it was something else that it was not meant to be?....Like wanting a warm beach when you live landlocked on the other side of the mountains and wondering WHY it wasn't right there where you are! (We have lakes folks....it is what it is...)
Oddly enough, no matter how much we "measure" and compare, there are a lot of things in life that show up in the same way year after year....after year.....under the observance of "bigger picture views" (over the course of the year perhaps....that seasons play out among themselves and not for our "entertainment"....we just get to experience their "dance".....perhaps? 😉 ). We may be here to experience and flow like everything else....enjoying OUR part in this "bigger picture" and living out our journeys with joy....
All I know is I hear and feel a warm wind blowing through and I know that my garden beds will get a bit of love today ❤
Happy Earth day!! ❤

Spider memories...

 Aww how cute!

😃 😛 😉
Yeah....I had one get in my ear at the beach when we went to Cali (Not this type...) . I seemed like I was just being "weird" again, feeling movement and pain in my head....I finally used a salt solution (SO glad I travelled with my own himalayan salt) to flush it out. Nothing like seeing in order to believe... 😉

What is of greater value?

 Good morning!

Value.... as I woke this morning I thought about a man....a man who needed work done. He had the currency but wasn't willing to pay....but his need for the work being done grew...and still no one was available for the work he needed someone skilled to perform. What is of greater value? ....
Again, another man came to mind.....we keep hearing about the man who found a treasure and bought the field it was in or the merchant who found a great pearl and sold what he had to have it....but what about the ones who sold the field and who had the pearl in plain sight? I would think the one who sold the pearl had their eyes set on something else of value that they had no desire or need for the pearl. Or the one with the field...what if he hid the treasure, but forgot about it....and why was the other man digging around in a field they knew belonged to someone else?
I think it may be time for us all to shift our view of "value"....it can always use an upgrade. 😉 I think recognizing in each day what/where/who you have put value in and why is a beautiful exercise.
The boys were at a music festival and the judicator closed each session reminding the children to go and express their love and gratitude to family and teachers.....in light of the accident that occurred in this last week...
Yet there are those dismissing the value of their loved ones yet crying for someone else's loss and pain....that the ideas and thoughts that diminish the value of those in our lives are more important (and thus of more value) than taking a moment to sit silently and observe the beauty, awe, and wonder of what we have been graced with in our presence....it is not for us to possess and think nothing of it...it is for us to experience and appreciate in the moments it is there. ❤
Love deeper, be in awe and appreciation a little longer, and recognize the value within your days.... ❤
