The stories we tell ourselves....

Good morning!

The stories we tell ourselves....
LOL I am still recalling a conversation I shared last weekend. It was uplifting to share both the facts and then my choice and response....
I can't help but to think though.... "Don't talk to me about the facts or justifying yourself with "decisions" you made in heated and hurt moments....In moments you made choices that were based in judgments...If I told you the story...of what I lived and experienced...if I told you just the facts...you would be aghast, and often it leaves people shaking their heads. "
LOL I often shake my head too...remembering things that have occurred and been like "WOW! What was THAT!?!" And then I shift almost instantly to another state...into amazement, gratitude, wonder, and celebration. I don't remember when this all started for me....within the last 20 years perhaps?...where betrayal and deceit turned into irony and value. Where mocking and doubtful dismissals turned into encouragement and curiosity. I saw over and over how discouragement and disappointment turned into moments of beauty and amplification and worked out amazingly for my benefit.
So now, by adding in "we'll see...", by suspending my conclusion and waiting until after seeing how things DO work out, it washes me with a wave ... a wave of love, comfort, and understanding. Faith in how things will turn out, no matter how things "looked" in the moment.
Attaching to the stories in our lives and the conclusions around the facts we experienced means we have closed the book before the story was done. If we are going to write and tell ourselves stories shouldn't we wait it out? We haven't even fully read how things will play out. We didn't even see that it's a "choose your own adventure" book we were reading.
Don't get so caught up in the plot of one chapter that you have "written", when there is a whole book unfolding "life" through its pages.
Last year on this very same weekend, things were what seemed a chaotic mess and yet, I felt as though I was floating through time with "we'll see" as my statement. I applied compassion, and "I don't know", and allowed for myself to be celebrated. So many beautifully ironic and curious moments. So much "getting together" as things on the other end looked torn apart. Life.
This weekend, the facts sounded similar.... and the story being "read" and "written" is ever-evolving through each choice in the moment we make. Will we stay the same and stuck? Or will we allow "stories" that no longer serve us to be "let go" and no longer narrate how things will move forward...
A different sentence and response has been written.... so we'll see 😉 ...
And thanks to ALL who have contributed to the irony that has been unfolding. Some day, I will share this story with more detail...for now, it is amplifying my gratitude and putting a smile on my face ❤
( I chose this pic because its one of my favs 😉 )

Giving thanks, living thanks. Embody gratitude

Good morning!
Giving thanks....Living thanks.
Yup. It's as simple as that. I love the simplicity of it because finding the next good and better thing to do is ripe with clarity in the hearts of the thankful.
Lately, it's been witnessing people (including myself) make bold, loving choices to take care of themselves to be able to better show up for others.
Yesterday it was not holding back or withholding words or expressions and truly connecting with wholeheartedness.
It was in the expression of saying I LOVE celebrating your journey and achievements and successes as though they are my own (#ubuntu).
I am living thanks as my way of truly giving thanks for the life I GET to live...and by me living life to the full (in each moment) and from the wholeness of my heart feels like the best way to share my gratitude today.

Being a "witness" to events and miracles in your life

 Good morning!

This morning I want to share about being a "witness" to events and miracles in your life.

The freckles on the face of my newborn nephew, the magpie that was insistent in sharing a message with me and followed me eye level through the trees.....my dad singing "Happy birthday" to himself.....

For me in my life these are ALL beautiful, irreplaceable, and priceless wonders that make up MY life.

The first, I thought I had gotten tons of pictures of. I wanted to be able to share about his beautiful baby freckles (which I have never seen on a baby since) as he got older, however all the pics came out fuzzy. 🙁 But I can still see them in my mind as clearly as that day AND I still have the pictures reminding me of the fact that it was a failed attempt of capturing the moment.

I was SUPER fortunate to had been walking with my boys and talking about how ravens had tried speaking with me when a magpie started hopping along the branches with us. I responded as kindly as possible saying I wish I spoke "magpie" so I could fully understand, but the moment is still super special and I have my boys who remember (maybe one remembers it more than the other...on purpose).

And then the last one. Each year, I would start walking around on my birthday and sing "happy BIRTday to me...♪♫" in a funny voice and the boys wondered why I sang it that way. I said that is the way my dad sang it for himself and I loved it so much, that I do it for myself ever year and it fills me with beaming joy ❤ Well, last year when we called my dad for his birthday and we sang, he jumped in with song and began to sing so loud in that same "voice" I would... "Happy BIRTday to ME!!! ♪♫♪" The boys had the BIGGEST smiles and WIDEST eyes on them as what I told them came true for them to hear ❤ ❤

We ARE WITNESSES to this MIRACULOUS experience of humans living life ❤ Through our VERY OWN eyes and senses....we bring the gift of observation and the feeling of awe, wonder and appreciation into this world in ways nothing else seems to do ❤

And when we BEAR WITNESS....in other words SHARE from our lives even just the smallest of wonders we observe, we heighten the experience for another.

Let's share from our childlike wonder today. It's not silly, it's necessary. Those little things we notice and puts a slight smile on our hearts are a gift for us all ❤

P.S. Today IS my dad's BIRTday ♪♫♪ ❤

Allowing yourself to be still and know you are not broken

 Good morning!

Last day of September and the day before a new month and full moon.
And mental wellness is at the forefront of my mind. Why? Because I know the struggle others face. And those who see me, also see the freedom of expression and the safety to share their stories as I walk in mine.
It's not a a fight as much as it is an allowing....Allowing yourself to be still and not "have to" fight thoughts and expectations.
I know a lot of people who vacation and escape to "favourite" places for that opportunity of stillness and not "having to" that their "regular" life expects of them. Many retreats that offer the tranquility of peace and reflection. We run "to" these things with fervor...most likely because it's a space we need to allow ourselves to be in more often.
I'm here to share a belief I hold....that there is nothing wrong or broken about you. YOUR journey is yours. Your existence and resonance is valued. As you breathe, so do we all. Just the beating of your heart can influence those around you up to 3ft away (some say further).
CONNECTION! Within you and with others. Allow yourself the space to connect in to the space within you where you are whole and accepted with divine intention. Allow that to resonate from you and to be shared with others.
I accept! I accept the parts of me that are edgy and "salty" and I accept the parts of me that are forgiving, insightful, and compassionate. And I allow the one to serve to the good of the other for beneficial wholeness....NO MATTER WHAT my day or circumstances are looking like...it's the life I am living and I trust that it gets better and better...even 1% at a time.
So enjoy this day....and continue to allow for your personal wellness. It's not just for you, but for us all ❤
