The power of praise. Be about adding value daily

Recently, I have been thinking about the language, speech, and tone that gets used when we speak to others.

Some we have a sing-songy approach toward with our words and tone.
Some we constantly find ourselves snapping at and feeling annoyed by...even if we don't intend on it.
I'm a parent to two boys that are very different...in both experiences and personalities.
I'm constantly 'course-correcting' to make sure I find MYSELF using praise throughout the day. Not just in my words. Also INSIDE my thoughts and actions as well.
Adding value to others also adds value to ourselves.
Seeing ourselves engaged in loving action encourages and calls us to participating in more of the same.
Have you been finding ways to be in praise of those around you?

Banana chocolate berry muffins with vegan creamy "cheeze" frosting

We (my son and I.... okay moreso my son LOL) were asked to make a dessert for the Women's day event for our church. The dessert was meant to cater to the needs of those with allergies, sensitivities, and dietary restrictions.

We went through a lot of options that we wanted to make, but settled on my son's most infamous and well known recipe, banana banana bread.

This recipe and modification was passed down to him by me. How to spice, how to mix the flours for texture, and how to use bananas instead of eggs to honour an allergy I experience.

In the process of the thought process on how to "fancy" it up, we came up with the idea of frosting the muffins/cupcakes and then topping them off with the elements of what is inside.

Here's how we put it together...

For the frosting, this was our base... https://www.intoxicatedonlife.com/sugar-free-cream-cheese-frosting/

Subbed cream cheese with coconut milk and butter for coconut oil. we used cassava flour instead of tapioca starch and added a bit of apple cider vinegar to enhance the stevia and give it that "cheese" taste... we had to keep adding stevia and vinegar to get the right "taste"

For the banana bread muffins ... https://www.marthastewart.com/312772/banana-bread

We add in 1/2 cup water and use 1/2 cup oil instead of butter... we did the flour as 2:1 cassava:coconut flour. I used stevia equivalent for the sugar and added a splash of apple cider vinegar to the water. I added extra water to get the right "cake" mix consistency. And we sub eggs for mashed bananas

Life in abundance...

 Good mawning!

Life in abundance...
As I woke up this morning, I pondered on allowing yourself to consider the full spectrum of possibility in our lives.
Truly letting it be OKAY to see where you are truly awesome and magnificent AS WELL AS how you beat up on yourself, disregard and disrespect, and hinder yourself from enjoying the goodness of you.
WITNESSING the wonder that you are in wholeness, as you stand back in observance and NON familiarity. Realizing, that you may NOT fully know yourself as you say you do if you are holding onto the limitations and validating THEM over your potential day in and day out.
Allowing yourself to see that maybe, you are more of an advocate for the story you tell yourself than you are for your own beautiful existence.
I then thought of the tale of the two wolves...realizing, that abundance is being had by whichever wolf is well fed.
What are we choosing to put our abundance into? Building up or tearing down?
Our time, energy, focus, attention, headspace...
We ARE abundant. Each and every day. And we choose how we invest our resources for the life we will live.
Grateful that I get to be more mindful (woohoo, picking up my abundance...) and applying it to "feed" the "story" of who it is I would love and enjoy seeing myself to be.

Resonance, intimacy, knowledge, fear, and fullness...

 Good mawning!

This morning as I was sitting at the desk with my son, I read his most recent comic as I was listening to a Jewish podcast that was shared with me.
At the same point in my reading/perceiving of the comic and listening to the podcast, and also receiving an insight...they all chimed in on the same thing, fear and our relationship with "it".
The insight said... "Let God even be the Lord over that which you fear."
In that "shadowy" space where our fears reside, let us "know" that even God is there.
In that moment I was still processing that true knowing resides in intimacy and embodiment. It's the "O" space that marriage and partnership get to enjoy... if the one another relationships within those boundaries allows for such exploration and vulnerability. "Knowing" has an embodied resonance to it. It vibrates throughout your being and speaks into the silence that surrounds your presence.
Allowing yourself to "know" the "song" of another is simply beautiful. Even if....you don't necessarily want to "know", you "know" and choose accordingly with what you want to keep company with.
So imagine, that you allow yourself to "know" in more fullness... The ways in which things are beneficial and serving to you, like water and hydration, while also knowing being dropped in the middle a stormy ocean could be dangerous for you. Recognizing the fullness of the presence of the things within your space (reference to the comic...).
As beautiful and majestic and embracing and awe inspiring something may be to us, in the fullness of it we can recognize that failing to approach with mindfulness, care, love, and respect, we may quickly fall from our experience of wonder into a space of dread and distortion.
Resonance, intimacy, knowledge, fear, and fullness...
This feels good to embrace and comprehend in my being today. 💖
