Success

My imperfections and failures are as much a blessing from God as my successes and talents.  ~ Mahatma Gandhi

Don't dismiss the win

 Good morning!

Well THAT'S annoying!! This boy though LOL 😛
Have you ever given someone a compliment or you were celebrating something awesome that they had done, and they turn around with a scowl, shoot down your compliment, AND dismiss the accomplishment. 🙁
So I am calling it out.....if you experience even the SMALLEST of wins in your day and your life, please don't "DISMISS THE WIN". Catch yourself!! Stop discounted the ways you are growing.... in which life is GOING for you. You are forgetting to celebrate and enjoy! Even if it is just for a second...acknowledge it!
"Lucky" for me I spent many years in a circle of influence of people that were very quick to dismiss any accomplishment that I could have achieved. It didn't make me want to prove them wrong as maybe their intent was....instead it sat as a voice in the back of my head (and maybe still does) telling me all the things I dream of are not possible....it was totally killing my joy in life. And it also became a part of a journey of taking my own head space and joy back.
Now, I am in the practice of recognizing and celebrating, on a daily basis (with a much nicer circle of peeps ❤ ) , the many little things that are showing up as positive proof of the growth I am experiencing and the goals I am aiming to achieve. It's always been there in my life...and it IS always present in yours.... you just have to give yourself the opportunity to enjoy it. 😉

All the jiggly bits ... feeling good in my own skin NOW

All the jiggly bits

Today I decided to “splurge” and try on some tops that I saw on the sale rack while out shopping with the boys. It was just me in the change room, and as I hurried to try on the items, I had a flash back….of me out doing my reward shopping trip after reaching a fitness goal…which I think was about 10 years ago now. WOW!! As I saw my reflection jiggle and shake back at me, I realized that these two change room experiences were QUITE different.

I recall when I took off my clothes to try on the assortment that I picked out 10 years ago. I don’t even recall what I was trying on, I just remember how I felt when I initially undressed and stood there in the mirror all those years ago….I felt happy for my results, AND an overwhelming level of sadness and loneliness. I literally had no one to share in that moment with me...to celebrate that I finally achieved, after 2 years of pain and emotional stress....staying focused and supported with groups and people from half-way across the world, the healthy and lean body I worked hard for after a very difficult pregnancy and over 100 pounds of weight gained. I may have had some loose skin, but everything I tried on looked amazing. My body tone was exactly what I wanted it to be, and that part felt really good.

Fast forward to today...where I saw under bright, stark lighting all the jiggly bits moving around LOL. And I was like….”Nice”, “OH WELL!” and I continued on my way. The tops fit great and the pants fit perfect too. I was happy with how everything fit, and I felt loved and supported in that space. Definitely a big contrast to the experience I felt years ago and not the heavy weight of feeling uncelebrated or unseen. I still feel the sting of how that “hurt” in my heart.

So why am I sharing this? Because the question is, what’s so different? I had the body, that if I tried on anything, it would fit the way I wanted it to and look the way I wanted it to look. I was strong and lean and I was grateful to have achieved that for myself. I find, that I keep comparing myself to myself from 10 years ago, but even though that woman still inspires me, she is not who I am experiencing now. The woman I am today, with her unique set of challenges and growth, can see the potential of what I have now, and the work that I am putting in to make significant changes in my life.  This woman that I am now is also her own fortified cheerleader and support. Even though the woman of 10 years ago wasn't trying to impress anyone with her weight loss, it was a HARD road of pushing through so much criticism and disbelief to get there. NOW, no one is really noticing what is going on physically, but also things have changed, not just with MY mindset, but with the mindset of those I am surrounded with. What changed was my circle of influence.

I AM well supported from both the inside out, and also by those I share company with. They don't expect LESS from me....they see me in a great light. And I think it is important, that as we go along into the New Year with resolutions and big goals, that we also look to how we can BEST be supported. This is why coaches are a valuable resource. Not because they get paid to push you, but the really GOOD coaches celebrate you and want to see you succeed. They believe in the freedom and joy that you will achieve and the wonders in the journey along the way.

Honestly, there is so much I would share with people about my journey over the last 10+ years....the parts that really lit me up and sparked my fire, but describing it can't do it justice....you really have to experience that feeling for yourself. And my fellow coaches really feel that for their clients. HAHAHA, it's awesome to see someone get lit up when the person they are helping has their "lightbulb" go off and they get to experience the "goodness" for themselves. It's such a beautiful experience.

So part of the difference I experienced from 10 years ago to today was...I really LOVE the enjoyment and giddiness I get from celebrating ME!! Unapologetically!! It feels great to feel great :D And I feel the Omnipresence of celebration all around me as well. God is like my personal coach, always cheering me on and rooting for my success.

So do me a favour, will you? Let's bring in much more JOY into the journey into 2019 and beyond. And if you need a little help and support, then know that there are good coaches out there will to help you to get where it is you are wanting to go. 💗

Which type of example are you going to live by?

 Good morning

❤
2 young kids and their mom almost got run down in the parking lot yesterday as we were leaving. I was so thrown back in this moment....watching what was happening and deciding what to do in the same moment. How you ask? Because I stopped for them to cross the road and people decided to pull out from behind me, cutting off the oncoming traffic and whipping through....😡😡😡🤬
LOL I just want to apologize to my dear friend Sheryl as she got to share in my "passion" and love for life yesterday.
Honestly, what I looked like was probably angry, and how I felt inside....I just wanted to BAWL 😭😭😭😭😭😭 The lady didn't understand English enough ...and I guess neither did the drivers who were cutting her off and sending her children running back to the curb (the husband ran across with the baby in his arms).
I tried everything except for getting out of the vehicle to get them to stop...rolled down my window, and put my hand out ....nothing worked until I put my vehicle at a diagonal.
One after the other went around and EACH one of them saw the lady, stopped and then gassed through (except the one truck who went slower)....
Sometimes we chose.....to follow in the "examples" of others without giving the situation OUR individual assessment. All these people followed the one example of an impatient driver...when they had the same opportunity, as I did, to consider that there was a family crossing the roadway . I remember mindlessly not watching for a pedestrian before and how I felt after...and that's why I make more mindful choices today...because it feels better, as it aligns better with my core values, and really, it's a more flowful journey when we make those easy considerations of others as we move through in our own lives.
There is always an opportunity to use GOOD discernment in the day to day moments of our journey instead of a hasty judgment (even though in that statement I may be sharing a bias against the choices others made...)....I'm not going to assume what their judgment call was, but I am definitely going to choose to focus in on making good decisions and choices that honour those around me as well as my good interests on a daily basis. Much love ❤

Am I your cup of tea?

 Good morning.

I am not everyone's cup of tea. This is my jar (haha lost connection) of tea for this morning. A triple blend tulsi in a litre of filtered water.
This year (starting as of October last year 😉 ) I have been focused on deepening core relationships. And quickly I was made aware that, as much as MY intention may be to grow a better relationship with those around me, some of those around me may not be seeing me in a light that allows for a deeper relationship.
A lot would refer to that as being a one-sided relationship...I think it is more a reflection of the type of relationship I "allowed" to happen between myself and the individual. So, my best plan of action is to....be what it is that I want to be in that relationship for both myself and the other person with the highest intention in mind. So far things have worked out amazing. A dear birthday "sister" of mine got together with me and I KNOW that our relationship will be going in an uplifting direction for us both ❤ Others, have somehow found themselves more distant...Like when a coffee with milk gets cold and you no longer want to drink it.
This is the natural ebb and flow of my circles of influence. I don't "purge" like a big decluttering-spring-cleaning-clear-the-cobwebs kind of event....people naturally shift in and out of my inner circles based on how I shift ME in the process.
So for 2019, I may be a coffee gone cold for you...and that's okay....but if not, pull up a cup because I am always brewing a fresh cup of tea over here 😉
